How far in advance should I place my order?
Because Sugar Studio is not a retail location, my calendar is often full at least 3-4 weeks in advance and often more for certain dates. While I’m sometimes able to get an order in within that timeframe, it is best to get on my calendar as soon as possible. Even if it’s months in advance, we can work out your order details as we get closer to your event date!
How much will my cake cost?
There are many variables which go into the pricing of a custom cake, such as size/shape of the cake (number of servings), flavors, ingredients/materials used, and overall design and labor. Once I have an idea of what the size and design of your cake will be, I can provide you with a preliminary estimate.
Can I store a cake overnight in my refrigerator?
Absolutely! Pickups are scheduled Mon-Sat, so if you have a party on a Sunday your order will be ready for the day prior (Saturday). The exterior covering, whether buttercream or fondant, protects the cake from drying out. I’ll provide you with some storage tips and tricks so your cake will still taste great the following day! Sunday deliveries for weddings or large events are taken on a case-by-case basis.
Do you provide cake tastings?
Due to scheduling limitations, at this time cake tastings are reserved for engaged couples and are held semi-virtually. You may select up to three cake and three filling flavors for a $75 tasting fee. We’ll plan a day and time for you to pick up your samples from me in Sherman Oaks, and on the same day we will have a video call– this is when you’ll sample your cakes for the first time. We will discuss cake flavors and design, and I’ll be able to answer any questions you may have! If you decide to place your order with Sugar Studio, I will gladly apply that credit toward your total.
Do you offer delivery?
Delivery may be available, schedule permitting, and the fee is based on the exact address to where it will be delivered and the delivery time.
